The history of ‘Mar de Silleiro’ is for now a brief history. We started this adventure in 2005, seeking a solution to a problem in the management of natural stocks of goose barnacle.
We realized the limitations posed by commercializing only fresh barnacle, and thus was born the idea of preserving the barnacle. Wanting to conserve the sea we transform a problem into an opportunity.
Behind ‘Mar de Silleiro’ have five years of research and studies that give us peace of mind knowing that we are offering a product with the best quality and made out of a resource exploited in a sustainable way.
‘Mar de Silleiro, LTD’ embodies the will to sustain our traditional way of life, hard and risky, but also free and intense. It is an exercise in responsibility and respect for the resource we are privileged to exploit.
With this motivation, 27 goose barnacle collectors decided to move one step forward and expand the horizon of our work to bring new and tasty products to your table. All these products have the most unique and exquisite seafood as their fundamental ingredient: goose barnacle.
